America’s pre-eminent modern dance revolutionaries Isadora Duncan, Loie Fuller, and Ruth St. Denis emancipated the world of dance through their artistic passion, primacy of vision and an intuitive conception of art beyond the superficial. As part of the 2010 statewide Minds Wide Open, Virginia Celebrates Women in the Arts, Moving Voices The Isadora Duncan Cultural Exchange Inc. is delighted to invite you to The Prizery for a performance of Muses of Modern Dance: The Legends and The Legacies, a highlight of pioneering American Modern Dance works by Isadora Duncan, Loie Fuller, and Ruth St. Denis.

Moving Voices welcomes Dr. Jeanne Bresciani, The Isadora Duncan International Institute; Jody Sperling, Time Lapse Dance; and Livia Vanaver, Vanaver Caravan, all of New York. On Friday, May 14th, Moving Voices, located at 419A Main Street, will host a Meet The Art and Artist Workshop from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and during part of the Saturday, May 15th performance at The Prizery at 8:00 pm, dancers from Moving Voices will be on stage with these master professionals, engaging in a unique and sublime evening of Modern Dance. Moving Voices The Isadora Duncan Cultural Exchange is one of only four Duncan Studios on the East Coast. This is a rare opportunity for local students to dance alongside professionals from a field they love and aspire to learn more about.
