Weather Closings Now Online - Submit Yours

Posted by Lisa Kipps-Brown in websites , weather , radio stations , emergency

953HLF.com and 1045TheDan.com are now posting weather closings & delays on their websites.

There is also a form on each website for businesses & organizations to submit your weather closing information online; we encourage you to use the online forms rather than calling or faxing, as the staff can update the website from any computer that is online.  That means if the staff is snowed in, they'll still be able to receive your info and get it online.

WHLF Now Streaming Music Online

Posted by Lisa Kipps-Brown in radio stations , music

Listening to 95-3HLF at work just got easier!  The station is in the midst of having a new website developed, and one of the features is live streaming.  Until the new website is launched, you can click here to listen to hits from the 80s, 90s, and today; after the site launches, you'll be able to view past playlists, song lyrics, videos, and more.

95-3HLF is a part of the Lakes Media family, and the new site will follow the lines of the new 1045 The Dan site - Lakes Media's new classic rock station in Danville.  1045 The Dan has been a big hit already, and the "Listen Live" feature on the new sites will give much increased ad exposure for advertisers.  Personally, I love the fact that I'll have the option to listen to local radio when I'm out of town.

Reliving Life Through Music

Posted by Lisa Kipps-Brown in radio stations , music , entertainment

Isn't it funny how certain songs will bring back specific memories?  Growing up the daughter of a professional musician, music always played a huge role in our lives, but the spurring of memories is something that everyone shares - whether they have any musical talent or not.

What started my thinking about this was going through some of 1045 The Dan's playlists; while it's great to be able to listen online to their classic rock, I think it's just as fun to go through the playlists and enjoy the memories they ignite.  Sometimes I'll run across a song I haven't heard in years, and it will bring back a memory I hadn't thought of in years;  I love it!

New radio station offers "listen live"

Posted by Lisa Kipps-Brown in radio stations , music , entertainment , Danville

If you're a fan of classic rock, there's a new radio station just for you: 1045 The Dan.   Not only can you tune in on the radio at 104.5 FM and 1580 AM, you can also LISTEN LIVE on our Entertainment page or by visiting the station's website!

Another fun feature on 1045 The Dan is their "Last Songs Played" feature; you can view a continuously updated list of songs that have been played (listed by the time they were played), and there are links to view videos and lyrics of a song, check the artist's concert schedule, buy the song, and buy the ringtone.  On top of that, you can even click a past date on the calendar and see playlists for that date!
