Celebrate Fat Tuesday with Hugh Vaughan!

Atlanta-based musician Hugh Vaughan will be performing at the Danville YWCA tomorrow night, Tuesday Feb. 16, to celebrate Mardi Gras.  The event is a fundraiser for the YWCA, and the cover charge includes Jambalaya, beads, and a chance to be crowned Queen or King of the Mardi Gras.  Mention that you're a Dan Fan or VIP Listener (1045 The Dan and 95-3HLF), and get a $3 discount on the cover charge!  The party is from 7-10 pm, at 750 Main Street in Danville.  For more information, contact Donelle Corelle, Ms. D Productions, at 434-517-1551, or Carol Ann Lawson at the YWCA, 434-792-1522.

As a part of his hometown fundraising tour, Hugh also performed this past Saturday night at a fundraiser for Convergence Art Guild in Halifax.  He grew up in South Boston, VA, and got his start as a teenager in the 60's playing with Robyn and the Hoods in Danville and South Boston.

Don't miss this special treat!  R&B artist Hugh Vaughan will be featured at Convergence Art Guild's Valentine's Day event on Saturday, February 13 (8pm - until), where he'll be hosting one of his rare Hugh Vaughan and Friends performances.   Hugh's career spans more than four decades, during  which he has opened for artists as diverse as Johnny Winter, Flora Purim, and Airto Moreira and has shared the stage with such legends as Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, and Paul Butterfield.  

The entrance fee is $15 and all proceeds go to Convergence Art Guild programs

With the help of Ms. D. Productions, fans of Hugh Vaughan got to send out Black Friday listening to great music - much more fun than shopping!

Hugh, a native of South Boston, has been making music with bands and as a single act for years, from Watertown, NY to Key West, FL and from Savannah, GA to Breckenridge, CO. He's been on stage with BB King, Bonnie Raitt, members of the Allman Brothers Band, Johnny Winter, Bonnie Bramlett, Billy Ray Hatley, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, and many others that he can't even remember.
