Acoustic rock singer/songwriter David Ellis Martin will be opening for Brian vander Ark at The Prizery on Friday, February 22. A South Boston native, David reflects his diverse musical influences and experiences in songs that combine anthem-like melodies and progressive chord structures. He has performed both locally and regionally as a solo artist as well as with various bands like the Halifax County Jazz Band and Grandmaster Slice and Izzy Chill.
Brian vander Ark found fame through with the band Verve Pipe; more than just the band's frontman, he was its literal and figurative voice, providing the creative spark and song writing that gave the band its devoted following. Rather than blindly attempt to reclaim a throne that was fleeting at best, the Michigan native struck out on his own, hit the road and released his acclaimed debut solo CD, Resurrection, in 2005. This inspired collection of original songs recalls an era when artists were not afraid to express their heart’s direction and soul's design. Vander Ark continues that commitment with the release of his latest CD, Angel, Put Your Face On.
The show starts at 7:30 pm in The Prizery's theatre, and tickets are $27; visit www.prizery.com to buy tickets, and for more information on other upcoming shows at The Prizery.
