This morning Delegate James Edmunds joined with Governor Bob McDonnell in announcing the Governor’s economic development agenda. Delegate Edmunds is carrying a bill, HB380 Governor’s Opportunity Fund, requested by the Governor.
Governor McDonnell outlined an aggressive bi-partisan agenda aimed at increasing economic developments in the state while specifically focusing on Southside.
Delegate Edmunds’ bill is HB 380:
Governor’s Development Opportunity Fund - Criteria for awarding grants and loans (Watkins and Edmunds)
- Provides that criteria to be used in awarding grants and loans from the Governor's Development Opportunity Fund shall include (i) job creation, (ii) private capital investment, and (iii) anticipated additional state tax revenue expected to accrue to the state and affected localities as a result of the capital investment and jobs created.
Delegate Edmunds stated “I am honored to be asked to carry a bill for Governor McDonnell and look forward to advancing his economic development agenda in any way I can.”
