It's 34 degrees outside here in Halifax and it is raining on top of our beautiful snow. However, our neighbors to the north are seeing cooler temperatures. And, with these cooler temperatures, they are seeing snow and the dreaded three letter word, ice.
I just heard from a co-worker who lives near Farmville that his power had just gone out. If you would like to see where else the power might be out, Dominion Power has a handy website:
Those to the west of us can access Appalachian Power's Outage website here:
Southside Electric Cooperative has a handy outage checking website. If they are your provider, check here:
Southside Electric Cooperative Outages
These are handy links if you are wondering why your friend or relative is not answering their home phone.
Also, unless you are using your cell phone to check this web page, it won't come in much use when you want to report a power outage if your power company is Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative or Danville Utilities. However, here's their outage reporting websites.
Mecklenburg Electric Coop Outage Reporting
Danville Utilities Outage Reporting
If your power company is not listed here, just check their website and search for "outage". Or, simply visit Google and search there.
