(‘TMI’), located at VIRginia International Raceway in Halifax County, announced in August that it has recently acquired all North American manufacturing, distribution, sales & service rights for HoodXpress from Litens Automotive Group (Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada) & Tendeco Sales Inc. (London, Ohio).

HoodXpress (www.hoodxpress.com) is a uniquely designed automatic engine hood lift mechanism for Class 8 trucks.  Comprised of a standardized HD base power unit + application specific installation kits, HoodXpress is custom engineered for each model of vehicle for which availability currently exists.  TMI is now undertaking a program to expand the range of HoodXpress Class 8 applications, on a priority basis.

HoodXpress provides significant benefits & value via increased safety, convenience, reliability, security & simplicity associated with the routine opening/closing of Class 8 truck hoods for daily inspection purposes and/or for underhood servicing.  These are benefits that directly apply to individual owner/operators or fleet owners. 

The unique actuation cycle programming of HoodXpress provides for reliable, smooth & controlled full-range hood operation via a high security, hand-held key fob remote.  Although designed & thoroughly ‘tested tough’ to handle wind and/or snow & ice load situations, all HoodXpress units also have built-in provisions for emergency manual operation & overload protection.

HoodXpress units can readily be self-installed using basic tools, or professionally installed via authorized dealers/installers (TBD).  TMI can also offer custom HoodXpress finishes for show truck owners, etc.
